Replace your roof regularly to protect your home

If you want to take proper care of your house, it is important to replace your roof on a regular basis. It is crucial to be aware that your roof won’t last forever; it has a life expectancy that depends on the weather conditions of the area that you live in, materials it is made from, and the amount of maintenance.

Unfortunately, most homeowners don’t maintain their roof regularly, and later, when a problem occurs, they are surprised. The lack of maintenance has an adverse impact on the lifespan of the roof. However, even if you maintain this part of your house regularly, you can’t expect it to last forever. You should have it replaced as soon as you notice that it is too old or has severe issues. In case you decide to replace it, you can find professionals who specialize in roof replacement at

One of the things that you should consider when thinking about replacement is the age of your roof. If it is almost 25 years old, it would be the best idea to get in touch with professionals as soon as you can. Keep in mind that asphalt roofs usually last two decades. If you have a roof made of asphalt shingles, and it is 25 or 30 years old, you should replace it promptly. Don’t wait until it starts collapsing as it will be too late, and it will cost you a lot in property damage.

Curling Shingles

You should also consider replacing the top of your home if you notice that the shingles are curling. There are two ways of this situation – cupping, when the shingle edges turn upward and clawing, when the middle of the shingles starts to come up. In both cases, you are dealing with weathering, and you have a problem that is close to fruition, for example, you have potential leaks. In this situation, you will be in need of a new roof in the next year or two.

Missing Shingles

In case you notice that some shingles are missing from your roof, it would be wise to consider replacement. Don’t worry, missing a couple of shingles is not a big deal as you can simply replace them. However, if you see that many shingles are missing, and it keeps repeating in the future, it would be a much better idea to have the entire thing replaced with the new one. You can keep patching it until a severe problem presents itself, but it is the best not to waste time and money on this.

Cracked Shingles

If your shingles are cracked, it may mean that you should replace your roof. The same applies as in the previous case – if just a couple of shingles have cracks on them, you can just add new shingles. However, if you notice that the cracking is random throughout the roof, it is a sign that you should start thinking about replacing the top of your house.
